I got this shade, Electric Poppy, last year from Beautylish when Charlotte Tilbury had just launched her Hot Lips range of lipsticks and had preserved it for warmer weather (I mean more warmer months).
I pulled it out last week and I can't keep it down. It is such a beautiful and scorching hot shade for summers. It just makes the whole look so lively and bright without looking over the top.
Electric Poppy, named after her muse Poppy Delevingne, is hot fuchsia shade with blue undertones in Matte Revolution formula which I feel is a demi matte and not a flat matte. It glides smoothly like her other Matte Revolution lipsticks without being patchy or uneven and feels very moisturising and does not feel drying at all through the day. The lipstick is slightly shiny on initial application and it doesn't set to a full matte finish. It almost feels velvety to me.
However, it wears off pretty unevenly on me after a few cups of coffee and a meal, that is almost after about 4-5 hours. I just smooth it out with my finger and its all good again, but, not as good as when freshly applied.
It comes in her standard rose gold tube with her logo on the top. The bullet is not a standard uniformly thick with oval shaped top. It tapers to lesser thickness towards the top and I like the squared shape of the bullet, which makes it very easier to apply the lipstick. However, I am skeptical about the square shape when it wears down to the point where the bullet gets thicker. (Hope it makes sense)
Here is the swatch of the lipstick and its just one single swipe. As you can see the lipstick is very pigmented and even.
And, this is what Electric Poppy looks my medium to tan skin. I am about NC 40 in MAC foundations.
Overall, I like this lipstick for how bright it is, but, wish it didn't wear off unevenly on me. Nevertheless, it is going to be my go to hot pink shade this season. Although, I am loving this lipstick this season but I am waiting for the weather to cool down a bit. I am already done with this seasons hot weather.
Lots of Love
