Review: Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base

I haven't tried many products from Bobbi Brown brand but have heard some really great things about them. When I visited the store couple of month ago I was overwhelmed about what to try first and got myself a skincare item which is a hybrid of moisturiser and primer - Vitamin Enriched Face Base.

Its a reach moisture with Shea Butter and Vitamins C & E to hydrate and moisturise the skin making it velvety soft, without making the skin greasy. I thought this was gimmicky in when I first saw and heard about it. But, it does what it says and no wonder so many YouTubers and Bloggers love it.

When I first opened it, I loved its clean clear glass and black packaging. Very classy.

The product itself is creamy-pale yellow in color and very thick in consistency. Despite being thicker in consistency, it spreads and slips well on skin. It has a slight lemony scent to it which I love and find quite refreshing.

I have been using it quite regularly for last couple of months and I really love it. It does make my skin look velvety smooth and doesn't look oily or greasy or feel heavy on skin, in line with its recommendation for all skin types - from oily to extra dry. I have oily +combination skin and suits me well, but, I wonder how well it would suit those extra dry skin. I generally skip my moisturiser whenever I use this and directly apply it over my serums. On days when my skin is extra freaky and needs a boost of extra moisture I mix a couple of drops of Trilogy Rose Hip Oil or Sunday Riley Juno Oil.

Whether using this as primer/ moisturizer or anything other primer, I never skip applying a mattifying pore filling primer around the T-zone where I tend to get oily through the day.

The company recommends using it both day and night, but, I have used it during the day only as a makeup base.

I hate that this such an expensive base and its really not good for my wallet that I love it. In India this is priced at INR 4450/- (Available online at Nykaa website - here) for 50 ml of product, which is more than double the price some of expensive range moisturisers (Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Extended Thirst Relief is priced at INR 1900/- for 50 ml and Clarins Hydraquench Moisturising Gel is around INR 3500/-).

I have heard some great things about Bobbi Brown skincare line. What have you tried from her skincare as well as make-up line? I have tried her mascara and iconic Shimmer Bricks and I loved both.

I love trying new foundations (whether new in the market or old ones that are raved about), so, next up I would try her Skin foundation.

I hope you guys liked and found this post a bit helpful.

Lots of Love
