A very rare thing is just about to happen, second consecutive skin care post!
I don't consider myself to be any specialist in skin care and most of the time it is trial and error. While some products work wonders others don't. Its been only recently that I have started exploring skin care brands - unfortunately thanks to severe break outs I suffered couple or more months ago.
I heard about Trilogy Rosehip Collection from Karima and Renji and I was quite intimidated with their experiences, especially on acne. So, I started exploring their website and was quite overwhelmed. So, rather than buying a full sized bottle, I rather bought a travel set which included decent sized samples of a cleanser, a facial spray, rosehip oil and a moisturizer. I thought it was quite a deal and would be good for traveling considering my frequent visits to Delhi.
For those who have not heard of Trilogy brand, it's a New Zealand based natural certified skin care brand. Their entire range of products is certified organic i.e. made with organically grown ingredients, which is quite amazing and it's a favourite skin care brand of many A lister from Hollywood!
Rosehip Oil is derived from the hip of the rose and not rose petals and it is believed to be rich in essential fatty acids (omega 3 and 6) about 80% and fatty acid (omega 9), that are great for acne prone skin and to fight acne spots and prevent aging. So, for my skin type a match made in heaven!
I started using the cleanser, oil and moisturizer very religiously and guys, it did wonderful things for me too. My acne started drying very quickly, ever so soft and smooth skin which looked plump and well hydrated and I noticed my skin was less shiny through the day. I used it both day and night.
Step 1: Cleanse
Step 2: Oil
Step 3: Facial Spray
Step 4: Moisturizer
Fast forward to today, I have completely finished using all of these products, baring moisturizer of which I have couple of uses left, and I am already feeling quite nervous.
1. Cleanser (30 ml)
Its a normal cream cleanser, which I used both morning and night - second cleanser at night after my Clinique Take the Day Off balm. It left my skin soft and hydrated without leaving any oily residue.
I also used this cleanser as a face mask with a few drops of Rosehip Oil, and it worked fantastic too.
2. Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ (5 ml)
This the BOMB product of all. AMAZING is just not enough to describe this oil. It absorbed in my skin in just a few seconds making my skin super soft and supple and hydrated and all those good things. I also used this oil mixing with my La Roche Posay SPF 50 Sunscreen and it worked wonderful making the sunscreen a lot more blend-able. Guys, the smell - IT IS DIVINE. I noticed my acne situation got better over the time and I did not get any new zit / acne when I was using this set. I am now contemplating at getting the bigger bottle. I will recommend this oil to everyone, whether you have oily skin or dry or combination. I also used this oil underneath make-up and didn't notice any breaking up of make-up through the day. So, a great day oil too. A big thumbs up for this oil!
3. Facial Spray (20 ml)
It feels like a splash of freshly cut roses and I will not lie this was the first product I finished first. Given a chance I would just bathe in the facial spray. Amazing mist, very fine and even. Love love love.
4. Essential Moisturiser (20 ml)
Okay, first things first. This is a very heavy moisturizer and one needs less than a pea size for entire face and neck. But, I learned it after giving a very good dose of massage of this luxurious cream on until my chest and stomach. Well, not literally, but, you get that! A very very luxurious rich cream that sinks in few seconds locking moisture in the skin for the rest of the day. However, I would say that it was a bit to heavy for my combo skin especially when I was using it in Mumbai's humid weather. But, in Delhi's dry and harsh summers it was wonderful. Never felt heavy. I am now left with a couple of uses more and I am now using it as a night moisturizer and no signs of clogged pores or heaviness. I am not sure whether I will be buying it again considering its limited use for me. Could be during drier months in Mumbai. But, for now I am quite satisfied with my Clarins Hydraquench Moisturizing Gel.
