Current Favourite Perfume | Chanel EDT Chance Eau Vive

Hey Guys,

So, the weather has finally started warming (read heating) up in Mumbai. Last weekend was horribly hot for March and I am so not liking it. And the weather has started showing its effects on my body - I have upset stomach for last couple of weeks - severe acidity and I can feel the heat in my body. My face is exploding with break outs and zits. Not a very pleasant start to summers, for sure. My stomach is much better today I can see that my zits have also dried a bit. Sorry, for such a sad intro but I am really freaking out because of it!

However, there is one thing that is keeping me calm and refreshed in this not so pleasant situation - Chanel EDT Chance Eau Vive. I love fragrances but never indulged in designer perfumes and never even read about them. Recently I have developed an interest in perfumes and I now have two designer perfumes. The only perfume that I used to wear was Davidoff Cool Blue all these years and whatever my friends/ family would gift. I don't consider myself well educated to review a perfume, but, however naive I may sound I wanted to share my thoughts and excitement of owning a designer perfume on my blog.

Chanel one being my first designer perfume. Love its opening citrus notes and as the time goes on I can also sense jasmine and white musk. Eau Vive is quite a mild scent and a great elegant one for everyday wear. I love its fresh scent so much that I literally drench myself in it. However, it doesn't last long - 4 to 5 hours max. If you want to read more about it in detail check out its details at Fragrantica here. The baby pink liquor is housed in a sleek glass bottle with a frosted plastic cap, which I adore. It costed me a bomb, but, fragrance wise I would say its not overwhelming, but, pretty decent and I am loving it currently.

I am in search of a rose scent for this season that is not too strong and rose-y. I am considering Roses by Chloe. Do you have any other recommendations that I should check out, do share below in the comments.

Beautylish Haul 2016 | Ft Natasha Denona, Cover FX and Jefree Star | Pictures and Swatches

Hey Guys,

After not buying any makeup for 2-3 months, I splurged this month. Couldn't resist myself from trying Natasha Denona eye shadow. Online reviews and swatches were killing me and so were Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks and ever since Cover FX Custom Cover Drops were launched I was itching to try. So, I caved into the temptation and this haulage happened from Beautylish! Well, not many products, but, I am proud of each piece.

I love shopping from Beautylish as they have free express shipping on orders above USD 100.00, but, yes you have to pay customs and there is no escape. But, now a days I have learned to live with this fact that my purchases will be subject to customs and I plan accordingly. I am happy in a way that I am not dependent on anyone and no favors exchanged (ya know what I mean) ;-)

So, my order was delivered last week and all the products were rapped in a Natasha Denona 28 eye shadows palette gift paper sorts, which, I misplaced! Generally, Beautylish orders come with a love short note from the team which I love.

I haven't really tested this products properly to pass any judgement, but, just by swatching and playing them a little I have first impressions sorts. So, only pictures and swatches for this post. Hope you enjoy!

Rediscovering from stash - old favorites | M.A.C. Lipsticks in Up the Amp and So Chaud

Hey Guys,

It happens with most of us makeup hoarders that we buy new stuff and leave older stuff (which isn't old by any means) to gather dust and die. I am guilty of doing this for past many years. When I started my make-up adventure I was on spree to collect all MAC lipstick, which faded over the years and I branched out to other brands. And when I saw my overflowing lipstick drawer I realized the time for major declutter has arrived.

When I was decluttering my lipstick stash over the weekend and found these two lipsticks lying somewhere deep down - unused for many months and probably years - which I used to love back then. These were Up the Amp, a bright purple shade leaning blue and So Chaud, a bright Orange. I pulled them out to give them some love this week and both the shades happen to perfect shades for the season.

You can see from the pictured below that these are hardly used and I feel ashamed of not using these beautiful shades much.

So Chaud is like in your face bright which I have paired with a smudged kohl and matching bronzy-orange cheeks.

Up the Amp is a tricky shade for me and it dulls down my complexion very easily so, I generally pair it with a bright pink blush and defined eyes to draw some attention away from lips. I also changed my brow pencil for this look from my usual ABH Chocolate and used Medium Brown which more ashy and cool toned, so that Chocolates warm tones don't conflict with cool toned lips & cheeks.

I love this rediscovering of old favs in my stash of make-up. I hope you like it to. How do you really ensure that you are using old fav stuff? Have you rediscovered something new which was your fav in the past? If you would like to read these posts, I will continue doing this with other stuff as well. Lemme know!

Full On Glam | Dewy Wet Skin, Dramatic Wing Liner and Deep Dark Lips

Hey Guys,

Hope most you have started enjoying the warm weather (those who are living up north). But, my heart doesn't want the colder weather to go from Mumbai, like literally. It rained a bit last week here and the weather was back to being pleasant, if not cold, and there was a happy me!

This weekend I had decided to do a full on glamorous look and the weather also support by not be too hot and humid. So, over the weekend I played with make-up, stuff that I hadn't used in a while and looks that I would not want to wear to work - read fierce winged liner with 12376 eye shadows, false lashes and deep dark vampy lips ( I wear bold lips to office sometimes, but, not such a fierce liner and false lashes) paired with dewy and almost glossy skin (however, you can still see some of my imperfections, but, who cares).

To get the dewy - glossy skin I applied Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone all over as a base using the same foundation brush which I later used to apply Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation in 7.5 and to set everything in place and to allow other powder products to blend seamlessly without making my base look matte and cakey I dusted Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Powder all over.

For sculpting and highlighting I used my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow and Chanel JC Blush in Malice ever so slightly for a natural flush.

On my eyes I used Makeupgeek and old fav MAC eye shadows - MUG Creme Brule as transition color, MAC Brown Scriptr adding depth in the crease and MAC Ground Brown for deepening the outer crease & outer corner and the star of the show MUG foiled eye shadow Grandstand all over the lids and In the Spotlight in the inner most corners and mirrored the same underneath lower lash line. For a fierce winged liner I used my trustee Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. For exaggerating the wing line and create an illusion of elongated eyes I applied Ardell Demi Wispies, but trimmed them about 2/3rd. Finished off the look with some L'oreal Million Lashes mascara.

For deep, dark vampy lips I chose Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in Heathers and MAC lip liner in Nightmoth to define lip line.

Its been ages since I have done a look specifically for the blog and I quite liked how this look turned out and I hope you guys liked the look, too. I can wear this to any party, but, sans false lashes which I find extremely uncomfortable to wear.

Lots of Love,
