Chocolate Brown Monochrome Look | ft Tom Ford and Charlotte Tilbury

Hey Guys,

HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2016!

Last year I picked my Tom Ford Coco Mirage palette and ever since I got it, there is no looking back, I have been wearing the same eye shadows every time I wear make-up to office. To many it may be the most boring eye shadows palette, but, for me they work perfect be it a day time look appropriate for work or an amped-up evening smokey eye look. And if you are neutral eye shadows lover/ hoarder, you need this palette in your life!

All the shades are so beautifully pigmented and are so buttery smooth that I can't express in words, you have to experience it yourself. The pigments are packed in such a way that there is no access powder flying everywhere, which you generally see on edges og any palette (hope you get what I mean). These eye shadows blend like nobodies business and any look be it day time natural look or a more smokey dark brown smokey eye, I can get the look in under 5 minutes.

Recently, when Selfridges had free worldwide shipping offer going on, I got some more stuff from Tom Ford and couple of Matte Revolution lipsticks, Very Victoria and Birkin Brown. And, as soon I saw Birkin Brown I knew it's an amazing color for a monochromatic look with my Coco Mirage Palette. Birkin Brown is an amazing reddish brown which, I am very surprised, looks amazing on me.

To maintain the monochromatic theme of this look, I applied a brown eye liner and slightly winged it and left the lower lash line blank and for my blush I chose MAC Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Warm Soul (reviewed here).  To slightly sculpt and highlight my face I used Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze and Glow.

And an awkward pose to capture that Film Star glow ;-)

Below is the list of all products I used in this look:

Face:

  • Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight Liquid
  • Dior Nude Air Serum Foundation #40 (which is a bit too dark for my shade - online shopping, ya know) + MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC42 to conceal notorious dark spots
  • Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Biscuit + Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer
  • Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder
  • Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow
  • MAC Cosmetics Blush in Warm Soul
Brows:

  • Anastasia Brow Wiz + Dipbrow in Chocolate and her clear brow gel to set brow hair in place

Eyes:

  • Tom Ford Coco Mirage Palette (losely dusted all shades and darkened the outer corners with darkest brown and under the lower lash line)
  • L'oreal brown gel liner
  • L'oreal million lashes mascara (one coat)
Lips:
  • Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Birkin Brown

I love how this look has turned out and I hope you guys like it too. You can break the monotony of shades use some pop of colors, either in eyes or a bright pink or an intense red lip or wear it more subtly with a more natural lip color. There are way too many options!

Hope to see you soon.

Lots of Love,
