Review: MAC Lipstick in Media

Hey Guys,

Hope you all are happy and healthy.

Ever since I saw pictures of Khole Kardashian's bold lip look at the Oscars 2014 party, I knew I wanted the exact same shade of lipstick in my life. If I am not wrong, her make-up artist used OCC's Dahlia lip tar. And no surprise, to get my hands on OCC product in India was next impossible thing. So, I went to trustee MAC store and started surfing there ocean of lipsticks! Media was the closest shade that I could find and I immediately picked it up. I wore it non-stop during Dussehra-Diwali vacations and got ton of compliments. So, I thought why not share this beautiful shade with you guys.

MAC Satin Lipstick in media is a very deep dark wine-red color, but, on my lips it is not as dark as it appears in the bullet. For satin finish, I find it a little bit glossier and settle in the fine lines of lips. However, the lipstick formula is packed with pigment and you get full coverage in one single swipe and smooth enough to glide easily through the lips. I did not notice any bleeding through the edges of my lips, which is quite nice or a dark lip product. Lasting power is quite decent, and it lasts for about 5-6 hours on me with a few cups of tea and a small meal. I see it working fantastic for medium to dark skin babes, but I see it washing out fair skin babes. Excellent shade for Indian brides!

I bought this lipstick a few months back, when MAC product prices were not ridiculously high. To me, I love this shade, as it's deep, dark and right up my alley and moreover it does not bleed or fade unevenly. MAC lipsticks are now priced at INR 1750/-, which to me is very high for the quality.

Overall, if you like dark vampy lips that are power packed with pigment like me, then this lipstick is right up your alley, but, expect it to settle a bit in the fine lines. At a ridiculously high price point, decide for yourself if this shade is for you or not!

You have seen me wearing this lipstick in my earlier posts here and here

Before I show you pictures of the product, let me confess that these pictures were taken after I swatched the lipstick once. I accidentally deleted the pictures of unused lipstick!

I hope you guys found the review helpful.

Lots of Love
