Review: Chanel Nail Polish in Starlet

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are happy and healthy.

So, I have reached my parents place today. It feels SO good to be back in the home where you have lived all your childhood and to see all those people who have seen you growing up. Oh my God, am I getting nostalgic? LoL.

So, today I present to you another nail polish from the Collection Avant Prèmier de Chanel Collection called 'Starlet'. According to me, this nail polish is *the star* of the whole collection. It's an extremely pretty peachy -pink shade with very fine gold shimmer. When it comes to shimmer, Chanel does it best. It's not a duo chrome per say, but it looks a bit more pink in natural light while a bit more peach in artificial light with more prominent shimmer. This is an absolute stunner and make you *feel like a star*.

Flows easily through the bed of the nail without dragging or pulling and creating those brush strokes. Two coats give the exact same color as in the bottle. Like my other Chanel polishes Starlet also lasts for about a week with minor tip wear and without actually chipping. I always apply Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat over my nail polishes.

Great shade for office wear and for those occasions where you want to look subtly glammed up. I received a ton of compliments when I wore this to my work place. Though, on my tanned hands, it doesn't look very great, I feel my hands look more tanned than they actually are.

Overall, love this piece of excellence from the House of Chanel.

Some pictures of the product and nail swatches: all pictures taken indoors in natural light unless otherwise stated.

Hope you all liked the look. How do you find this nail polish on my hands? Do they look more tanned? I am going to apply this nail polish to my mother today and see how it looks on her as she has comparatively fairer hands than mine.

Have a lovely week ahead.

Lots of Love

How I conceal my under eye dark circles - Routine & Favorite Products

Hello Everyone

Hope you all are happy and healthy

If you are following me for last two years, you would know that I was hooked to Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer. Recently, my Eve Pearl got over and I was dying to get another concealer. I had heard great reviews of MAC Pro Longwear concealer ever since it was launched. So, I went ahead and got myself a sample first and ended up buying a full bottle. I love how nicely it covers and stays put throughout the day even during these hot and humid summers of Mumbai. I love it's sleek glass bottle with the pump. But, the pump always oozes out more product than required. So, I usually keep about a pump in a sampler jar. This one pump lasts me about 3-4 times on both eyes. So, you can imagine how little you need to cover up those nasty dark circles around your eyes.

I had also heard a lot about Benefit Powderflage and Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. I always wanted to try a brightening powder for my under eyes. I went ahead and bought Laura Mercier Secret Brightening powder #2. This product doesn't give any life changing results, but, I quite liked the end result with this product on top of my concealer. This powder us a bit yellowish with very very fine shimmer hither tither.

So, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC42 and Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder #2 are very much my staples.

Here are some before and after pictures to show you the difference that these products together make!

Bare eyes, with just the eye cream

With MAC Pro Long Wear Concealer in NC42 blended
With Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder
Currently I am hooked to the same routine and liking is so much and I don't feel the need to really alter the routine. What are your favorite products for concealing under eye dark circles? Do let me know, I would love to know and try some new products.

Have a lovely week ahead.

Lots of Love

Review: Chanel Nail Polish in Cinéma

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are happy and healthy.

Today, I present to you one more addition in my small Chanel nail polish collection. Guys, I just love this designer brand nail polishes. Love how they perform and the million dollar shine in their formula. Love everything about them! Enough blabbering. This nail polish which I am showing you today is called Cinéma and it is from Collection Avant Prèmier de Chanel Collection, which features new shades in the Rouge Coco Hydrating and Rouge Coco Shine range and four nail polishes. I understand these are permanent colors, so no hurry to buy!

Cinéma is a medium red shade, leaning towards cooler tones a bit. This has creamy finish and doesn't drag or pull or bubble and flows very smoothly on the bed of the nail. Just flawless application. One coat gives almost the full intensity and with two coats, its bang on there. Love how shiny it is without my Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat. Like my other Chanel nail polishes, this also last for almost a week without actually chipping. According to me this is a great wearable red shade. Check out Temptalia's post to check out some comparisons - Click here

Here are some pictures of the nail polish and how it looks on my nails!

With my Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top Coat. If you see there is not much addition in the shine because of top coat.

I hope that you all liked the review and the nail polish on me.

When you reading this post, I am already on my way to my parent's in-laws place for a week's vacation and from there I will proceed to my parent's place for another week. So, excited for this fortnight of vacation with family. I have scheduled some posts for the fortnight and I will keep uploading them from time to time.

Have a lovely week ahead.

Lots of Love

Review: Inglot Nail Polish #315

Hello Everyone

Hope you all are happy and healthy and had a great weekend.

I am all set ready to go for a vacation with my family for 3 weeks. I can't express in words how excited I am, as the last time when I went for such a long vacation was during my own wedding! So, its pretty long time to have spent that much quality time with family and friends, especially where I and my husband have spent all our childhood. We have split this vacation in two parts. We first go to spend about a week with my parents-in-laws where we have lot of my husband's cousins and childhood friends joining us and post that we go to my parents where my brother and my husband's sister join us. We start our journey tomorrow. I have packed my luggage and done with the whole packing with some last minute finishing touches left, my husband says, he will start & finish his packing tonight! Men! I think, that's enough about my vacation and excitement. Lets get on to the topic now.

Inglot has an awesome range of nail polishes that are pretty inexpensive (compared with my Dior and Chanel Nail polishes) and are of great quality. I love the extensive shade range of Inglot Nail Polishes. When I saw them at the store, I wanted all of them, and ended up buying 5 shades together. That's insane!

Inglot Nail Polish #315 is an extremely pretty metallic aqua blue shade which is very sheer. Its one those shades which doesn't has much intense color. It almost looks silvery white with a hint of aqua on my nails. I find this shade very wearable on an everyday basis without much fuss. Because the product is slightly metallic in finish, you can see a bit of brush strokes.

Longevity wise all Inglot polishes lasted for about 4-5 days without actually chipping with my Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat.

What I found surprising (read shocking) after bringing these Inglot babies home was, these nail polishes have an expiry date. Mine have an expiry date of November 2015, which is 2+ years from now.

Price: INR 500/- or INR 550/- (Not sure about the exact price, but it is the this range only)

Overall, I liked the quality of these nail polishes from Inglot and especially this shade #315. Oh so beautiful and wearable shade of aqua blue! I would have loved if Inglot had taken some time and pain to at least describe the finish of polishes.

Here are few pictures of the nail polish:

Hope you all liked the shade. Have you tried any Inglot nail polishes? Which is your favorite color?

Have a lovely week ahead.

I have scheduled some posts that will go live on the blog from time to time. And I will surely be replying to all the comments and may also add a couple of new looks. But, I will definitely be active on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. So, make sure you are following me on all these social media platforms.

Lots of Love

Look using Guerlain's Turandot Palette and MAC Lipmix in Crimson

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are happy and healthy.

I bought these two amazing products yesterday and couldn't resist myself from playing with them. Of course, Guerlain's Turandot Palette is not new in the market. It was launched with Guerlain's Holiday 2012 collection, which I bought only yesterday. Another, product is lip mix from MAC Pro Range, Crimson, which is a permanent product.

 Here's the full look:

Here are the products used to create the look:

Face:
  • Le Teint Touch Eclat Illuminating Foundation #BD50 Beige Dore
  • MAC Pro Long wear Concealer in NC42 + Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder #2 for under eye dark circles
  • MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC 42 for blemishes
  • Nars Bronzer in Laguna
  • Nars Blush in Luster
  • Nars highlighter in Albatross
Eyes:
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Guerlain Turandot Palette
  • MAC Vanilla eye shadow under the brows
  • MAC eyeshadow in Brun to fill the brows + MAC Clear Brow gel to set them in place
  • Maybelline Falsies Mascara
Lips:
  • MAC Lipmix in Crimson (Pro product)
Here is the step by step tutorial on how I got the look:
  • Step 1: Primed my lid with Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Step 2: Applied dark brown eyepencil close to lash line
  • Step 3: Apply the darker burgundy shade (darker shade from the middle row)  in the outer V and blending it in the crease
  • Step 4: Apply the lighter shade from the middle row in the outer half of the lid:
  • Step 5: Apply the irredescent gold eye shadow on the left side of the palette in the inner third of the palette. The gold is not popping here in the picture, but in real life it looks extremely beautiful.
  • Step  6: Blend everything using MAC Soft Brown eye shadow (I used it very lightly). Apply the shimmer dark brown shade under the lower lash line and on upper lash line using the pointer side of the applicator that came with the palette. Also, apply the gold eye shadow from the palette in the inner third of lower lash line.
  • Step 7: Finished the look by apply the same dark brown pencil in the lower water line, a black eye pencil in upper water line and Maybelline Falsies Mascara.
  • I generally do my brows last, after completing the whole face. At this time highlighted the brow arch using MAC Vanilla eye shadow and also dusted some in the tear duct.

Some more pictures of the whole look:

I will share the review of both these products, the palette (with few more looks) and lipmix very soon (already liking it very much). Hope you liked the look.

Have a lovely weekend.

Lots of Love
