Review: MAC Lipstick in Dubbonet

Hello Everyone

Hope you all are happy and healthy.

MAC Dubbonet is one lipstick that deserves much love, a stunning red that looks awesome on Indians, or I should say is made specially for Indians. So apt for the festivals and 1920's Gatsby inspired look. This lipstick is oh so just awesome. It doesn't scream red like MAC Russian Red or Ruby Woo, but, it is red enough to be eye catching.

Dubonnet is described by MAC as Deepened Claret, which to me is warm brownish red. As the formula is Amplified, color payoff is freaking awesome, which, however, you can tone down by using a lip brush. I am totally in love with this shade specially for how fresh it looks on me.

Wear time is no problem at, like with all lipticks with Amplified finish. You can easily wear it in the morning and it will stand good for 6 hours + without requiring any touch up. So, I thought this lipstick is great for the on going festive season, where you definitely don't want to constantly be worried about your make-up.

Here are pictures, swatches and FOTD (you have seen me wearing this look here) with this lipstick on:

Left: Single Swipe, Right: Multiple Swipes

In the tube the shade was similar to MAC's Dare You (review here) and Runway Red. But, when swatched, Dare You is more Berryish Red with very fine Ruby shimmer and in Creemsheen formula and Runway Red is bluish deep red with slight accents of brown in Satin finish, while Dubonnet is Brownish Red.

Here are the pictures and swatches of these three lipsticks together for comparison:

Overall, Dubonnet is for you if you like bold colors but are afraid of screaming reds. This will brighten up your complexion and give you a brighter look.

I hope you all found the review helpful and liked the lipstick on me.

Outside this post, my brother has taken my camera (it is his camera only) to a biking expedition, so, I will not be able post new looks until I get the camera back next week. Also, my eyes have got some allergic infection which is quite horrible, as my eyes are refusing to stay white and stop watering, and my ophthalmologist has advised me to not use any eye make-up until the allergy is subsided, which again may take about a week. Until then I will upload old reviews/ posts that were pending for a while.

Have lovely weekend everyone!

Lots of Love
