Review: Chanel Le Vernis Nail Color in Alchimie

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are happy and healthy.

I have been on and off from blogging for last two weeks, the reason being festivals (Rakshabandhan and Shri Krishna Janmashtami) with ton of guests at home. I had a wonderful last two weeks. Hope you all had wonderful time too.

I bought this Chanel Le Vernis Nail Color in Alchimie from Chanel Superstition Collection for Fall 2013 collection while I was out for shopping with cousins. I had seen swatches of this on some international blogs and found it similar to Peridot, but, when I saw these together I ended up buying both! Well, that's me. Couldn't resist the beauty of these.

Alchimie is a metallic olive green shade with very fine antique gold shimmer. The shimmer in Alchimie is less apparent. While Alchimie is a metallic olive with more green in it, Peridot is a green- gold duo-chrome with more gold in it. (Review of Peridot coming up soon). You can see some wonderful swatches on Polish Police

It's similar to my other Chanel's in all departments, eg. color payoff, longevity and shine. It lasted for about a week without actually chipping with my Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top Coat.

Because it is metallic in finish, the finish of Alchimie is prone to showing brush strokes. So, one needs to be careful while applying this nail polish, as few strokes as possible to get an even finish. I also found that the consistency was a little too watery in comparison with my other Chanel's and hence leaving brush strokes.

Price: INR 1500/-

Overall, its a simple metallic golden olive green shade unlike Chanel's complex shades like Azure and Peridot, but a nice easy to wear shade which is good any occasion. Loved it for the shade but streaky finish.

Lots of Love
