Review: MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Quite the Thing!

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are happy and healthy.

MAC launched the Sheen Supreme line of lipsticks long long back and they are part of their permanent line of products. I always wanted to try these and the shade that caught my was Quite the Thing, quite a different eye catching shade and perfect name.

MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick
Combining the color impact of a lipstick with the shine sheen of a Lipglass, Sheen Supreme created a perfect hybrid - with no compromise. Lightweight, non-sticky, slick to apply and comfortable to wear. This is a must have for those who have craved this kind of fusion.

Quite the Thing - deep blue plum - is a lovely plum shade with fuchsia micro shimmer. The shade seem to be softer and sheered out MAC Rebel, of course with a fuchsia shimmer lipgloss on top of it. I just loved how wearable this shade it. Not as intense and vampy as Rebel, but, as pretty. Loved the shade.

Sheen Supreme lipsticks are a fusion of MAC lipsticks and Lipglass. They are creamier, moisturizing and give a nice glossy finish to the lips, without actually applying a lipgloss, but not as long lasting as a lipstick. On me this lasted good for about 3.5 hours, after which I felt the need to apply a lip balm and the color also started fading. After 4.5 hours the color was literally faded from my lips without any traces of lipstick. If this was the staying power with a darker shade, I wonder what it would be for lighter shades. The staying power disappointed me very much., as much I liked the shade. I loath its staying power, especially because the company says it's a hybrid with 'no compromise'.

The packaging of Sheen Supreme lipstick is not the standard bullet packaging, but its a glossy black cylindrical tube, which is cute.

Price: Same as other MAC lipsticks. INR 990/-.

Overall, Quite the Thing is a gorgeous shade but I highly loath it's staying power. If such is the staying power of a darker Sheen Supreme, I wonder what it would for lighter shades. To me this is not a worthy purchase. Only grace is the shade, which I absolutely love.

Here are the pictures of the product and how it looks on my NC40 ish skin:
