Hope you all are happy and healthy and had a great weekend.
I love the pastel shades of nail polishes that usually trend during Spring Season. I got this lovely soft pink shade from Chanel, called May, quite a while ago. This was launched with Chanel's Spring 2012 collection and is from permanent range.
I am wearing this nail polish a lot lately, and thought, why not share my thoughts with you all.
Chanel Le Vernish Nail Color in May is a lovely soft pink shade which is very wearable by women of any age and ethnicity. Almost neutral, barely inclining towards cooler tones on my warm/ yellow hands.
The formula of this nail polish disappointed me a bit, especially when compared with my other Chanel nail polishes (Malice & Blue Satin). The color pay off isn't as great as other Chanel nail polishes I have, which give almost full coverage in just one coat. One coat of May gives a very sheer uneven finish, for a full coverage I had to apply two coats. This polish has slightly thicker formula and it slightly dragged through the bed of the nail giving uneven finish. Because the formula is thicker, I have to apply this nail polish with lot of patience. I let the first coat set properly and then I apply the second coat. With Chanel and at this price point, I did not expect this, especially when I have used some really awesome nail polishes before.
I usually get a week's wear with all Chanel nail polishes, with minor tip wear & tear and this nail polish was also not an exception.
Comes in sturdy glass bottle with regular cap and separate brush cap.
Price: INR 1450/- for 13 ml of product.
Overall, the shade is very pretty and apt of this season, but, I would have loved it to the core if the formula was like my other Chanel nail polishes.
