Review: Dior Bronze Harmonie De Blush in Coral Riviera

Hello Everyone

Hope you all are geared up and have made plans for the weekend .

The product that I am going to review today is a product suitable for summers or warmer weather. Even though it is pretty much colder these days, but summers are not too far, especially in Mumbai. The product is called Dior Bronze Harmonie De Blush. The compact consists of 4 different shades, 3 of bronze in the middle and 1 of peachy coral encompassing the bronze.

Here are the pictures of the product:

As you can see in the pictures above, the product comes in a brown packaging signifying summers, unlike other products which come in Dior's signature blue packing. I really love the diamond like pattern in the compact casing. What I like most about Dior blushes is that they come is velvet pouches which save the compact case from dirt and finger prints. This one also come in a brown pouch.

Ok, so when you open the compact you will see a Dior signature pattern various shades of bronze and coral and you will get confused whether its a blush or a bronzer or what exactly is it? So, let me tell you this product is very much a blush which gives a warm glow with hint of coral which resembles morning sunshine.
The borders of the compact are lined with golden glitter, which I have removed, it looked too over the top. The product comes with a decent quality brush, which is great for travelling.

The middle most shade is a bronze shade with hues of peach and golden sheen, the darker triangles in the middle are matte bronze, the stripes on the left and right are matte coral and the stripes on top and bottom are peach with hint of bronze. So, when you mix all of them together its gives a cocktail of peach, coral and bronze. And, when applied on face it's a lovely sunshine glow and which is very subtle.

I absolutely adore this product and love the warm glow which it gives to my skin. I wear it mostly when I have done my eyes heavily as this blush looks very subtle and sheered out on me. Even though it applies sheer on me, it lasts well on my oily skin. It stayed without fading for good 6+ hours, after which noticed the product disappear slowly.

This product is heavenly for warm Indian skin. This product will suit fairer to medium+ complexion beauties a lot. As this product applies sheer, I am not sure how it would fare beauties with darker complexion.

I bought this product long long back from strawberrynet at INR 2550/- for 6.22 grams of product, which is huge and will last me almost through my life.

Here are the pictures of me wearing this lovely product:

On my lips I am wearing MAC See Sheer lipstick and Estee Lauder lipgloss in Rock Candy. You can also see me wearing this blush here

I hope you all found the review helpful and liked the blush on me.

Have a lovely weekend and a very HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY.

Lots of Love

Chanel has launched its make-up collection for Spring 2013 'Collection Printemps Precioux De Chanel' worldwide and in India recently

I was very intimidated by this collection and was desperately waiting for it's launch in India. The collection was officially launched in India on 15th January 2013, but, I got the chance to see the collection today after a week of its launch. Hence, a quick post about the collection.

Loved the luxurious pouch packaging of the powder. Of the entire collection I picked up this Illuminating Powder for INR 3700/- and Rouge Allure Extrate De Gloss in Merveille for INR 2100/-.

Here are some pictures of the products that I picked up and swatches (these pictures were taken indoor in artificial light, pictures in the day light will be updated tomorrow)

I will this post with some more pictures of the illuminating powder, to show how it looks is broad day light. Couldn't wait to share the excitement of owning the master piece of art and hence this quick post.

Make-up Look: Let's glam up for a winter party night - duo-chrome smokey eyes paired with berry lips and cheeks

Hello Everyone,

Hope all are having a great week so far and are geared up for the weekend.

All these days I was totally out of inspiration to do any looks and hence lack of posts. So, in the meanwhile I changed the design of the blog, especially the comments section. Now, I can reply to each and every comment individually. Its something which I wanted to have in my blog, but couldn't break the jinx. I am really excited about it.

Coming to the post now, when I woke up today morning, it was quite windy and chilly for Mumbai. Although, a lot make-up brands have already launched their Spring collections and bloggers across the world seem to have started their shopping for spring, but, for me winters are still around. So, a look inspired by winter colors, duo-chrome smokey eyes paired with berry lips and a lovely flush of berry on cheeks. This look is perfect for a party or a night out around the town. Actually, why just the night look, switch the lipstick color to a light to medium pink and the look will be good for day time too.

In all the pictures below you will see a big bump on my cheek, I am so sorry for that, but I just couldn't wait to share this look with you all.

Products Used:
  • Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer in Dark
  • Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Stromboli
  • MAC Mineralise Blush in Gentle
  • Nars bronzer in Laguna
  • Estée Lauder Illuminating Gelee in Modern Mercury
  • MAC paint pot in Painterly
  • MAC Eyeshadows: Cordura , Sketch, Wedge, Naked Lunch and pigment in Blue Brown
  • Lakmé absolute Kohl Ultimate in Black
  • Clinique Gel eyeliner in True Black
  • Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara
  • MAC Mattenee lipstick in Deliciously Forbidden (This is limited edition product, but you can get almost similar shade with MAC Plumful and lipliner in Beet. You can see the combo here
Below is the step by step tutorial to get the look:
  • Step 1: Prep you eyes with painterly paint pot
  • Step 2: Apply a mix of MAC eyeshadows in Cordura and Sketch using MAC 222 brush in the outer-V as shown below. Blend it well using MAC Wedge eyshadow.
  • Step 3: Apply the same combination of eyeshadows under the lower line using a pencil brush like MAC 209 brush
  • Step 4: Apply MAC eyeshadow in Naked Lunch under the brows
  • Step 5: Apply MAC pigment in Blue Brown all over the lid
  • Step 6: Apply the same Naked Lunch eyeshadow in the tear duct and blend it towards the inner crease
  • Step 7: Pat a little bit of Naked Lunch in the center of the lid. This will give an illusion of bigger eyes.
  • Step 8: Apply a very thin line of eyeliner and wing it slightly. Apply black eyepencil in the inner rim of your eyes and apply good 2-3 coats of black mascara.

  • Step 9: Fill in brows and tame them using a brow gel. I have used MAC clear brow gel and MAC eyeshadow in Brun to fill sparse spaces.

Here are some more pictures of the look.

I hope you all liked the look. I have been very much into berries and reds this winter. I usually do not follow any trends when it comes to make-up but, I got swayed away with the trends this year. Do you follow make-up trends, what is your favorite winter color? Share with me in the comments below. :-)

Have a lovely Friday and weekend.

A new look for the blog

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a great Monday.

A quick post about the changed design. I was planning to change the design of my blog for a long time and finally I did it today. I have added new pages to the blog, especially the 'Know me' page, which took the most time. I thought my readers have a right to me, that is, the person behind the blog.

On the design, I have mainly changed the commenting and updated it to have threaded comments to make conversation easier.

I really liked this changed look. I hope you like too.

Review: Nars Blush in Sin

Hello Everyone

I hope you all are happy and healthy and are having a great week.

Nars blush in Sin is a lovely dusky plum with golden shimmer which is very, very finely milled. Nars describes this blush as Berry tone with Golden Shimmer. In the pan the shade doesn't look very exciting, but, when applied it imparts a lovely morning freshness to the face and shimmer in it just melts into the skin to give a lovely glow.

When I first saw the blush in the pan, I thought, it would look ashy on my warm skintone and was skeptical of my purchase and immediately decided that I wasted my money. But, when I actually applied the blush, I thought my face never look so fresh before. It won my heart and I am proud that I purchased this blush. Though the shade leans towards cooler tones, I can see that this blush will suit a lot beauties with warmer skintone. I think the golden shimmer in it does the trick. I see a lot of people preferring this blush for winters, but, I will be wearing it through out the year for the lovely freshness that this imparts.

This blush is so loosely pigmented that it picks up a whole lot of product just by merely touching the brush on the product and you get the exact shade as in the pan on your cheeks, so, a small amount goes a long way. The texture of the product is so smooth that it doesn't feel like a powder blush when blended, feels like butter and blends very easily without any effort.

Like other Nars blushes, this blush also stays put for a decent 7 hours on me without fading. After 7 hours, I noticed a little bit of fading but it stayed there up to 8.5+ hours after which I could see it disappearing.

It comes in standard Nars packaging, which I hate as it attracts a lot of dirt and stains. But, for the product in it, packaging doesn't matter. The pan houses 4.8 gms of product and it costs USD 28.

Overall, this is a lovely dusky plum shade with golden shimmer which seem to balance out the cooler tones of plum shade and hence suiting beauties with cooler as well as warmer skintones. I absolutely adore this blush and would recommend it to everyone. Worth every penny.

Here are the pictures of the blush and me wearing it:

I hope you found the review helpful and liked the blush on me.

Have a lovely remaining week and stay happy.

A 'Malicious' Sunday Morning

Hello Everyone

Hope you all are having a great Sunday.

To start my Sunday, I thought of painting my nails the first thing in the morning before everybody else wakes up and keep me busy with other household stuff. So, I dug out another Chanel nail polish called 'Malice', which I bought last month. This shade was part of their Holiday 2012 Collection.

Malice is a blackened red shade with very fine ruby shimmer particles in it, which makes the nail polish multidimensional. Without the shimmer, it would have been just another flat dark blackened red.

Like my Chanel Blue Satin nail polish (reviewed here), this also has awesome pigmentation and color pay-off. Just in one single coat, it delivers 95% same color as in the bottle, and with two coats it gives the exact same shade as in the bottle. The polish is sufficiently thin to uniformly flow on the bed of the nail, without streaking or tugging. The formula is very similar to the Blue Satin nail polish.

Staying power, same as Blue Satin, almost a week with minor tip wear without actual chipping. I am testing the wear with Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top coat, which is supposed to extend the wear time of nail polishes up to 10 days. Will update that soon in the Top Coat's review soon, so watch out for the review.

It comes in sturdy glass bottle, with the same black square cap with Chanel signature on top. The brush is attached to the actually screw on cap which is smaller the square cap, and makes the nail polish application easier.

Price: INR 1450/- , yep expensive for nail polish, but the product and the shade is makes it worth the splurge.

Overall, its an amazing unique shade, with amazing staying power. If you have budget to buy a luxury nail polish, don't miss it.

So, without further blabbing, here are pictures and nail swatches for you:

I hope you liked the shade and the review.

What are you plans for Sunday, have you planned any thing great for the day? For me its a laid back Sunday with a small family gathering.

Lots of love

Review: MAC Lipstick in Plumful

Hello Everyone

So, coming to the first post of 2013, I am reviewing a MAC lipstick. Well, you know, even though the year has passed but my love for bright lipsticks hasn't faded at all. Although, the lipstick I am wearing is sheer but can be worn dramatically. Continue reading to know more.

The lipsitck I am review is called Plumful, described as 'blossoming rose-plum' in luster finish. The company has described it really well, it is soft pinky plum shade without looking vampy, great for everyday wear.

The luster finish has moisturizing properties, which is great for dry winter months, gives a glossy finish and I don't feel the need of applying lipgloss. This lipstick has decent pigmentation, two swipes gives you the shade as close as it in the tube.

Considering it comes in luster finish, this lipstick has decent saying power also. On me, during these dry winters, its lasts with the glossy finish for about 3.5 hrs and leaves a stain which fades by 4.5 - 5 hrs. So, its quite decent for me, especially, considering the luster finish.

When applied with MAC lip liner in Beet, the color is killer and just changes its mode of everyday wearable shade from a sexy and naughty evening shade.

Price: INR 950/-

Overall, it's a nice every day shade which can be worn with darker lip liner during evenings for a more dramatic look. Not, a must have, but if you are a make-up aficionado or like sheer shades, this one is for you.

Below are the pictures of the product, swatches and me wearing this lipstick.
