A colorful make-up look - Picture Tutorial!

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a great week so far.

I created this look using a lot of eye shadows (read: playing with eyeshadows) - purples, orange, gold and green. When I say that it seem to be very difficult to create, but, believe me it is very very easy (which you will realize it in the pictuto below). Ok, this definitely is an over the top look which would look good on girls night out or may be a dinner party, college/ school festivals, etc. depending on your level of comfort to wear such colorful looks, but this certainly is not an everyday kinda look. If, I am given a choice, I would love to wear it for a girlie night out or a fun party with friends/ family.

When I completed this look, I realized that it turned out to be spring/ summer look, but, I did not have any season in mind when I started with this look.

  • Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer Dark
  • MAC Select Cover up concealer in NC 43
  • MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation in NC 40

  • MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara
  • MAC Blacktrack fluidline
Lips:
  • NYX lip pencil in Natural
  • Revlon Color Burst lipstick Peach
  • MAC lipglass in Cultured
Stepwise Tutorial:
  • Step 1: Prime your lids using Painterly
  • Step 2: Apply Hepcat all over the lid leaving inner corner black.

  • Step 3: Apply Rule in the crease and blend

  • Step 4: Apply Shock-a-holic in the outer V

  • Step 5: Apply Inglot # 404 in the inner corner of the lid left blank earlier.

  • Step 6:  Apply Humid under the outer 2/3rd and Inglot # 404 under the the inner third of the lower lashline. Also, apply Ricepaper under the brows as brow highlight.

  • Step 7: Apply UD Zero in the water lines, very thin line of Blacktrack on the upper lashline and finish off the look with mascara.

Here are some more pictures of the completed look:

Hope that you all liked the look and let me know where would you like to wear such colorful looks and alterations that you may want to do with this look.

MUFE Star Powder # 975 - Pictures, Swatches, Review & FOTD

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are having great first few days of 2012.

MUFE Star Powder # 975 was launched with the Art of Nude Collection in mid 2011. They describe it as pink-bronze, to which I slightly differ, to me it is a peachy nude shade loaded with loads of fine shimmer, though extremely beautiful. I am in love with this star powder, perfect for day time but certainly not an everyday shade as it has lot of shimmer. Great to pair with berry, plum or red lips.

Wear time is great, color pay-off is excellent with buttery smooth finish & is easily blend-able with minimum fallout. Stays put on me with a primer underneath for 6-7 hours & then I see some creasing.

I absolutely adore Star Powders and this particular shade has special place in my hearth as it is very easy & classic shade, that one can never go wrong with it.

Here are some pictures, swatches and me wearing it with berry red lips:

Products Used
Face:
  • Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer in Dark
  • MAC Select Cover-up Concealer NC43
  • MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC40 + Nars Sheer Glow Stromboli
  • MAC MSF Natural Medium-Dark
  • Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer #20
  • Nars Amour Blush
  • Nars Albatross highlighter
Eyes:
  • MAC Paint pot in Painterly
  • MUFE Star Powder # 975 on lid
  • MAC Soft Brown to blend
  • MAC Swiss Chocolate in the outer V
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil Rockstar in lower water line
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Zero on upper water line
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Whisky under lower lash line & smudged using MAC Swiss Chocolate

I have also used this Star Powder in my birthday look here

Hope the review was helpful and you all liked it on me.

Just another gorgeous golden bronze look

Hello Everyone

Hope that you all are having a great week.

I created this look using a slightly different technique, it turned out to be really pretty (pictures are not doing justice to how beautiful it looks in person). It's kinda bronze smokier kinda look with a pop of gold. Great everyday wear, nothing complicated and you can use this technique to create just any other look. (Many of you may probably know the technique already)

After seeing the pictures I realized, it would look perfect with red lips or berry lips for an evening or night look. Also, I have used brown shade here to darken it, you can use black if you want a more intense look. So, if you want you can alter it the way you want.

Products Used
Face:
  • Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer in Dark
  • MAC Select Cover Up Concealer in NC43
  • MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC40 + Nars Sheer Glow Stromboli
  • Dior Skin Nude Powder #40
  • Guerlain Terracotta Matte Bronzer #20
  • MAC Pinch o'peach blush
  • Nars Albatross as cheek highlighter
Eyes:
  • MAC Painterly paint pot
  • MAC e/s Romp, Cork, Espresso, Ricepaper, Gorgeous Gold and Goldmine
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Whisky (any flat brown eyeliner pencil)
  • Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Zero (any flat black eyeliner pencil)
  • MUFE Smokey lash mascara
Lips:
  • Dior Addict lipstick in Dior Kiss
Here is the step by step tutorial:
  • Step 1: Prime your lids using your favorite paint pot
  • Step 2: Apply UD Whisky upper & lower lash line, thicker towards the outer part of lashline, smudge and blend it slightly into the crease.

  • Step 3 & 4: Apply Romp and blend it using Cork. Apply Ricepaper as brow highlight.
The dark smudged pencil is popping out
  • Step 5: Intensify outer corner where the dark brown eyeliner was smudged using Espresso. Also, smudge a little bit of espresso under the lower lash line.

  • Step 6: Apply Urban Decay Whisky in the lower water line and Zero in the upper water line.
  • Step 7: Apply Goldmine & Gorgeous Gold (packing both colors in the brush) in the inner third of the lid. Apply black mascara to finish the look.

Here are some more pictures of the finished look:

Can you see Nars Albatross highlighter on my cheeks :D :D
Hope you all liked another neutral look from me. It's little different, isn't it, hope you agree with me? :D :D

Have a great week.

A 'Rebel' start to the New Year!

Hello Everyone

Hope all of you had a great New Year's Eve!

I had a fantastic evening with friends and family. We went out for night out to an amusement park, drove a lot and of course ate a lot, pizzas, pastas, cakes, muffins, ice-creams and what not. To start the year, went to seek blessings of elders, my uncle and his family and had a great time cooking meals, gossiping and playing games with cousins.

Okay, coming to the first post of the year, I got a little bit rebellious to start the year with a very pretty shade from MAC called 'Rebel'. It is such a pretty shade that I can't stop raving about it. MAC describes it as Vivid pinkish-purple. It comes in Satin finish, which lasts (like other satin finishes) really long on my lips, for good 5 hours. Full marks to this lippie and a big thanks to Rashmi for writing a lot about it and compelling me to buy this beauty. :D

Here are some pictures and swatches of MAC Rebel:
