Neutral eyes and statement lips!

Hello Everyone

You all know that I have been going through a bold and bright lips phase these days. So, I thought why not share my favourite way of wearing bold and bright statement lips - i.e. neutral eye make-up with winged liner and simple cheeks with a nice highlighter.

My idea of statement lips that my rest of the make-up should be as neutral as possible so that the lips really stand out on the face, but as the same time I don't my lips to scream look at me, look at me! Therefore, I pair such bright lips with winged eyeliner to slightly tone down the brightness of the lips. On cheeks I prefer to keep them simple, but, I really love to add a lot of highlighter on my cheek bones to add a glow on the face which otherwise might look very pale with such bright lips.

Bright lipstick fever takes a Violet turn!

Hello Everyone

Hope you all are having a great week so far.

All those who are hooked up with me for sometime, know that I am going through a bright lipstick phase right now. Anything that's bright and lifts the mood up and is a lipstick/ lipgloss, I would buy it. It took a Violet turn when I went to MAC Store some time back and started trying some purple lipsticks/ lipglosses... and ended up picking this lovely violet lipstick called Up The Amp and this violet plushglass lipgloss called Butterfly Dream from the Vera Colletion, which sadly is Limited Edition.

MAC describes Up The Amp as Lavender Violet which is a very right description of the shade. This lipstick has slight blue undertones. Butterfly Dream is a sheer shimmery lilacy violet shade with bluish tealish violet shimmer particles, that are very very fine.

Up The Amp lipstick is a flat violet color, but, when paired with Butterfly Dream, the multicolored shimmer particles in it gives the lipstick a multidimensional look and finish.

I will review these products separately as I have to really try these products to write a review. I tried this lip combo today and really liked it and thought why not share with you all.

So, here are the pictures, swatches and pictures of me wearing this lip combo:

Bottom: Butterfly Dream, Top: Up The Amp

Bottom: Butterfly Dream, Middle: Up The Amp, Top: Combo
Lip combo paired with brown smokey eyes and neutral blush

Paired with soft neutral eyes and pink blush
Personally, I liked it more with neutral eyes and pink blush. But, I posted both the pictures to give you a better idea of the lip combo, as to how it would look with different eye makeup and blushes.

I hope you all liked the lip combo and the lip combo on me. Do let me know in the comments below, and  also, don't forget to tell me which look you liked more.

Have a great rest of the week ahead. I know, it's Friday tomorrow, but, my week ends only on Saturday.

Review: Nars Powder Blush in Gina

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are having a great week.

Blush Gina is described as True Tangerine by Nars, which is quite right, a lovely dirty orange shade. It doesn't has any hint of pink, but, just true dirty dusky orange. Great for those with warmer skintones, especially Asians and Indians. Yay!

Its a matte finish blush, no shimmer to emphasize pores or chunky glitter to fall all over the face. Blush with great pigmentation, really a very tiny bit goes a long way. You don't need to swirl your brush in the pan but just tap a couple of times and you get a nice warm glowing cheeks.

This blush has a great staring power too, stayed almost all day long without fading. When I say all day, I mean 7-8 hours. So, yes it stays put for good 8 hours with showing any hint of fading, after which, I felt that it got a little bit faded, but didn't feel the need to touch up.

It comes in signature Nars rubbery sleek black casing. Packaging is quite sturdy and sleek that you can easily throw in your purse/ handbag. Comes with a mirror which is great for touch ups. Though, the rubbery velvety   finish of the casing attracts hell lot of dirt and looks shabby. But, this is true for any Nars product. So, this isn't really a con for me, as I knew it before I bought this product, that this is going to happen.

I very much liked the blush and would recommend to everyone with warmer skintones. Not sure how it would fare with cooler toned lovelies.

Price: $28 only.

So, here are the pictures, swatches and how it looks on my NC 40ish skin:

In the pictures above, I have paired it up with neutral eyes and lips, to emphasize the shade of the blush.

On eyes, I am wearing Jardin Aires pigment on lids, Swiss Chocolate in the crease and bottom lashline and ablack liner.

On lips, I am wearing Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Blush with MAC lipglass in Nymphette.

I hope you all liked the blush and found the review helpful, do let me know in the comments below.

Have a wonderful week ahead.

Review: Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick # 35

Hey Everyone,

Hope you all are doing well.

To arouse your temptation to shop over the weekend, here I come with review of a lipstick perrrfect for Fall/ Winter. What, is it fall season already? No babbyyy, it's always summer in Mumbai ;-) and fall/ winter a little far in other parts of the country. Well, to me it doesn't really matter, what season it is, when it comes to make-up, not with Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Intense # 35, atleast.

This is a beautiful reddish berry shade with very very slight pinkish hint. As they say berry shades are for cooler months of the year, but to me this shade is wearable through out the year. This shade is very universal with no cool or warm undertones, and hence, would suit anybody with any skintone and color. This shade will be your baby if you are into more wearable stuff. In short it's a very very wearable, no mistake kind of a shade, which any one on this earth can rock. It's darker enough for those as well who like wearing brighter/ darker shades.

Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Intense lipsticks have INSANE pigmentation and color pay-off. They have a satin finish, which, to some of you could be drying, especially during colder months. But, a good moisturizing balm underneath would be a Saviour.

Awesome staying power. On me it lasted for good 5+ hours without even giving a slightest hint of fading, with a couple of cups of tea.It did fade a little bit after a full meal, but, by that time it had already crossed 5.5 hours mark!

It has the signature Make Up Forever packaging, plastic case with gunmetalish-steel metal tube.

Priced at around INR 1090/-. I know, I know, Make Up Forever has temporarily  moved out of India, but you can still get the stuff from Strawberrynet or Beautiful Store in Bandra, Mumbai (not sure of the price here).

So, to me this an absolute WINNER.

Okay, now enough of gyan on the lipstick, here comes the hero (or heroine) itself and me (MAC NC 40) wearing this beauty!

I hope you liked the lipstick, the lipstick on me and of course, found the review of any help! Let me know in the comments below.

Hope you all are having a great week.
