Nars Sheer Glow Foundation - Pictures, Swatches, Review

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are doing well and are having a great week.

Summers (or monsoons/ humid climate in India) are almost over and winters a soon to arrive. I have an extremely oily skin which becomes relatively drier during winter months. Well this post is not about skincare routine for winters but about my favorite foundation for winters - the famous Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. I got this foundation during last winters and I really loved how glowy and smoother it made my skin appear.

Nars's Story about the product:
A glowing, satin-finish foundation with sheer and buildable coverage that immaculately evens skin tone. Replete with skincare benefits and the NARS Complexion Brightening Formula, it leaves skin hydrated, more luminous, softer and smoother. Used daily, Sheer Glow Foundation improves the skin's brightness and texture.
  • For normal, normal-to-dry and dry skin types
  • Hydrates for softer and smoother skin
  • Contains powerful anti-oxidants to protect against damaging free radicals and turmeric extract to improve skin's radiance and tone
  • Dermatologist tested. Non-comedogenic. Fragrance free

My views on the product:
As I said in the beginning, my skin becomes relatively drier during the winter months, my foundation used to give me a very flaky and uneven finish. Then I came to know about this foundation. I got it through my brother from UK.I used it almost daily and really loved it. It made my skin appear very fresh and hydrated because of hydrating properties of the product. It leaves a healthy canvas for applying other products. :D

It's formula is quite liquidy as compared to MAC Studio Fix Fluid or MUFE HD. It gives a decent coverage. I have all those skin irregularities that one can imagine, pores around my nose, acne scars, active acne and what not (you can see it in the pictures below), but it covers up everything quite decently. Guys, please note that during winters I don't really suffer from acne or break-outs. So, I feel it does the job the way I want.

It comes in 20 shades from very pale to very dark skin beauties. I use it in shade Stromboli. I researched it through the internet for my NC37-40 skin tone in MAC. (You can judge if it really matches my skin color).

Price: USD 42.00
Very expensive, but again, I would say worth it!

On to packaging, it comes in a glass bottle with a screw cap which is valve-tty and I hate it as it become messy and attract dirt.

Overall I like this product. I would say it is not a must have foundation because it is pricey and not available in India to try the shade before buying. Also, not for oily skin, one can use it only during drier months of the year. But, if you visit where it is available in store and experience few drier months in your city/ country, give it a try. I am sure you will like it. I will say it's my go to and holy grail foundation for winter months.

Below are some pictures, swatches and me wearing this foundation:

I am sorry for this scary picture, but I wanted to be honest!

Haha... i hope you like the stuff on my site :-)
You must try this foundation... its amazing. I am hooked to this foundation this winter :-)

    2. I am using the Tinted Moisturizer. I read the foundation is quite similar to it, but I think the coverage might be a bit more than just a tinted moisturizer, won't it? Will definitely at least get a sample of this from the counter. I love that NARS has foundations that match our kind of skin undertones rather than just pink ashy ones!
