My first high end make-up product: Shiseido Hydro powder Eye-shadow in Bare Pink

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the very first post of my blog - mumbaimakeupdiary. I am very excited about this blog. Hope you all will like it J

My make-up addiction started when I was on shopping spree for my wedding. I was in Chennai at that time and was regularly visiting a parlour run by a Chinese woman in Adyar.  That day I had gone to her for a haircut. She was wearing a pearly-white eye shadow on her lids and I was so amazed that I immediately asked her what she was wearing on her eyes. Then she introduced me to this Japanese brand called ‘Shiseido’ and their eye make-up gem called Hydro powder Eye-shadow. She was wearing this product in Whitelights. The very same day I went to City Centre Mall to try this product myself. The SA tried it on my eyes and I was so impressed that I couldn’t stop myself from shelling Rs. 1100 for a single pot (6g) of eye-shadow.

What Co. says about this product?
Moisturizing creamy shadow transforms into long-wearing lustrous powder.
  • Crease-resistant.
  • Contains Multi-Nutrient Factor.
  • DERMATOLOGIST AND OPHTHALMOLOGIST-TESTED.
What I have to say about this product:
This eye shadow is one of my favourites. It comes in little glass pot which is very sturdy to carry. It glides on like butter, super creamy and yes it doesn’t crease for 5-6 hours w/o base and about 8 hours with base. I usually apply Painterly Paintpot from MAC as base and I usually use my ring finger to apply the product on my lids.

The colour – bare pink – is shimmery champagne-pearl pink which looks awesome on my eyes and it really brighten them up making my overall face look fresh. I grab this product very often and I have barely made a dent (you can see it in the picture). I pair it with MAC’s Swiss Chocolate, Folie and Satin Taupe using Sigma E40 brush in the crease and Vanila as highlight and it gives me a very clean and sophisticated look. I will soon post a look using this product to show you how exactly it looks on eyes.

Here are the swatches of this product:
